Hi,
I'm divorced and have a child before marriage, I need to know why I am not eligible to get family grant with my child as HDB stated as non essential occupier for my child. They gave me Single Grant Scheme and advised to appeal to HDB if I wanted to get the Family Grant with my child. My question:
1. Should I just take the single grant scheme or should I appeal?
2. How do I appeal and I understand that appeal will be subject to approval, what see the chances? Do I need to see the MP?
Thank you.

Hi,

Yes you could appeal to HDB too and just simply drop them an email.

Hi good day to you.

very unfortunate thing is that HDB probably classified your status as an unwed parent instead of a divorcee with custody.

Policy regarding unwed parent have improve recently. You may try appealing.

Feel free to contact me if you have other questions. Have a great day.

Yours sincerely,
