Hi. I'm currently about to rent a place in SG for 1 year and the Landlord is asking for me to bear any potential increase in condo's maintenance charges. Also requested for me to pay 2 months security deposit + 1 month rental in advance. Is this normal?

Hi Chew,

There is no standard practise for security deposit and tenant or owner bearing the maintenance fees. All these are subjected to agreement by all relavant parties, but as Ray has pointed out, usually security deposit for 1 year lease is 1 month. If you feel uncomfortable about this deal, then do not proceed.
