Hi I'm a Singaporean and my wife is a Malaysian,
I would like to make enquiry about getting a resale HDB resale flat as she is holding a PR.

I do some research that for Permanent Resident they will need to stay in Singapore for 3years before they can purchase a resale flat?

Also possible if any agents can advise what are the things we need to consider as i read some online article for Singapore Citizen and PR to purchase a HDB, they need to pay extra 5% through some scheme/limitation.

Hi,

For 1st matrimonial property for both of you, no ABSD is required and also no need to wait 3 years since there is a SC in the application.

Afternoon,

As you are SC, your first matrimonial unit with your spouse will not be liable for ABSD. You also do not need to wait for 3 years before you are eligible for the purchase.

Hi Weixiong,

I'm pleased to inform you that ABSD is not applicable to you, as you will be buying your first matrimonial home with your PR wife. ABSD is only for PR/PR couple.

Also, you need not wait for your wife to be PR for 3 years before you can buy a HDB flat. This is also applicable for PR/PR couples, where both of them need to fulfill 3 years PR before they can purchase a HDB flat.
