Hi,

I'm 35 yrs old single. I am looking to buy a resale HDB unit this year. I hope some of you can give me advice on the following as I am confused:

1) My ideal is to get a 4 room resale unit. But having checked with the online calculator, it states that my maximum purchase price for a house is $200,000, way below for any 4 room.

I have the following:

CPF: $80,000
Cash on Hand: $15,000
Gross Salary: $3,500

I save abt $1,300 monthly.

Please let me know if my dream of getting a 4 room resale unit is doable with the above criteria. Also, what's the maximum price for a resale flat i can purchase?

Also, I am not sure what sort of grants I can get for a single 35 yrs old.

Thank you!

Good afternoon Andy,

I will strongly advise you to do a formal HLE (HDB loan) or IPA (bank loan) to determine your loan amount.

As a single buying 4rm flat and below, you are able to apply for $25k housing grant.

Further $10k will be given if your parents will be staying with you.

Perhaps you might want to consider buying a 3rm flat instead?

Hope my sharing is informative and value adding to your property purchase.
