Hi Nur Afiqah,

1) Your fiance is allowed to remove his name from the BTO flat after meeting MOP.
2) However, removing a name is not just a paper process.
3) His mother has to be able to finance the flat by herself.
4) If this is fully paid. His mother will have to buy over his share.
5) If this is still under mortgage, his mother's income must be able to take up the full mortgage sum instead of the current amount.
6) if you are still a 1st timer, your combined application for BTO enjoys 1st timer privilege.

Hi Nur Afiqah,

You will be able to apply for a BTO once your fiancee meets his MOP for his flat.

Do take note that if he's the essential occupier of his Mother's flat, he will be considered as a "second timer" applicant. He will also need to dispose off his current flat latest within 6 months upon the TOP of the BTO flat.

By being the essential occupier of the flat, it probably means that his Mother is not Singaporean, and is either SPR or a Foreigner. This means that his Mother cannot own the flat solely under her name, hence his name is needed. Because if his Mother is a Singapore, he is not deemed to be an essential occupier.
