Hi, if I apply for BTO as a first timer with my fiancé, during the 5 years (or longer) waiting time for completion, can I purchase a resale flat without grant and stay out the MOP (5years) and then take possession of the BTO?

Hi there, i am afraid that's not possible. MOP of 5 years is mandatory regardless of grants. you may wanna consider getting a resale first without grant and then apply for BTO afterwards. Cheers

Hi

Unfortunately, HDB policy nowadays only allow buyer to either purchase a BTO or resale at one time. You may apply for BTO after the resale flat has reached its 5 years MOP. I am specialised in HDB transactions. Do contact me at 93375051  for a free and non obligatory discussions on this.
