Please read through and reply if you know exactly what I'm referring to AND you have several experiences handling such projects.

I'm looking to do this with my parents. They have an existing 4 room unit at Bishan, fully paid up. Personally, I'm single and over 35.

It is definitely a viable option as stated in the link you shared. For your situation, to maximise your returns, I will suggest you purchase a good size condo in a good location to live with your parents and to rent out a portion of it. For your parents, each of them can purchase a lower quantum investment grade property to rent it out while waiting for capital appreciation.

In this way, your family can concurrently own 3 properties while concurrently collecting rental income from all 3 properties.
