Hi Alfred,

It depends whether is HDB or Private.
For HDB, yes you still need to pay 1% even is direct buyer.

For Private, no you need not pay.

Please feel free to drop me an email or call me directly for further discussion.

Thanks & Best Regards

Hi Alfred, basically, the commission is a service fee to show acknowledgement of the agent servicing you, be it finding you an unit or helping you through the whole transaction procedure. It is a standard that all agency set the commission percentage for each of their agents. However, it is a must that for our case, you must strike a mutual agreement with the seller's agent on the commission payout before going on to sign on the OTP or even before you go on to negotiate the price. Commission payout percentage is not mandatory. Hope my answer helps. Please do feel free to contact me for further elaboration at 81003084  . =) Read More
