Hi,

I would like to clear my doubts. It is my first time applying for a flat. I'm currently looking at the latest BTO at Sengkang (Anchorvale Cove) and Punggol (Waterway Terraces II).
I'm applying under the fiance/fiancee scheme. I have started working for 13 months, while my boyfriend close to a year. I'm currently staying at Sengkang with my parents.
Q1) With only one year income, would it be enough for the initial payment? What kind of payment(s) would I be expecting in near future? Any grants to assist?
Q2) Would Sengkang or Punggol be a better choice? 4- or 5-room flat?
Hope to hear from you soon as application would close on 1 May 2011. Appreciate your help!

Hi Eunice,

You should just step into the HDB branch office near to your place and check with the HDB officer.

Key questions would be (i) eligiblity (ii) family neulcus (iii) eligibility for HLE, among others. The HDB info web site for this BTO is well documented where you could get most answers. As mentioned earlier, talk to the HDB office at the HDB branch area office near your place if you are not still not clear. They will be able to assist.

For such questions, chances of getting respones from anyone can be nil as this is a quite a wrong place to ask about direct sales from HDB - no benefits or interest for the salesperson to response! Crude but true.. before you curse anyone, ask yourself, how often do you do volunteer work or do work for free? No offence intended.. Cheers!! Read More

Hi Eunice,

For further clarification, for direct sales like BTO, real estate salesperson are not involved in the sales application or transaction. Only in DBSS or EC sales that a real estate agency may be engaged.

Thus, it is not advisable for salesperson to advise on direct HDB sales - if "wrong advise" is given, they may be held responsible though the "mistake" is not intented. Anyway, do check with the HDB branch office for such direct sales - they are the best person to advise.

Hi Eunice,

Like what Mr Chin had advised, its best to approach HDB staff direct with all your queries.

They are in a better position to advise you.

My personal opinion on the rooms size, grab a 4room flat is the best.

1. Easy To Maintain
2. Could gain better benefit when its come to gov't issuing bonus when they tag to size of flat we staying..
3. In case you wish to sell off after 5yrs of occupying it, 4 room is quite popular demand in market.

Hope my little suggestion does help in your decision making.

Cheers
Jaslin
