Hi, I would like to buy a 4-room HDB resale flat in Ang Mo Kio. But everybody tells me to wait as prices are going to drop. Minister Khaw also said recently in Parliament that his priority is taming the resale HDB market. I would appreciate your views on the matter. Should I wait or go ahead with buying a unit now?

Afternoon Ms. Tan,

I believe you have heard that the property market will cool and drop every time there's a cooling measure being released. But even the recent financial crisis didn't put much impact onto our property market.

Looking back at our history, when did people ever comment that housing prices are affordable? But after they have stayed in the unit for 6 to 10 years, they will still comment that housing prices are still not affordable. Then what make them buy it in the first place if it's not affordable. Work on the balance of your requirement and budget, things will then work it's way out for you.
