hi, i want to remove my name from the list of occupants for the hdb flat under my mum and my name. assuming mum can pay for remaining of the flat, can i carry out the removal of name procedure myself, without mum getting involved? i wish to buy a bto with my bf in a few years to come, worried that mum is unwilling to remove my name so i hope i can do it myself.

Hi Ms,

If you're not the co-owner or an essential occupier of the flat, you will be able to apply for a BTO with your boyfriend. There is no need to remove your name from the occupant list.
