Asked by
Hi, I want to know if I'm qualified for a new HDB BTO flat under these conditions (all are Singapore citizens):
1) Owner - myself, 28 yrs old, employed
2) Co-owner - my elder sibling, unemployed
3) Occupier - my mother, married status with martial flat (not planning to sell) under her name as co-owner

I've checked with HDB and other agents and receive conflicting answers.
As far as I understand, a Singapore citizen can be a owner/co-owner in 1 HDB flat but can have their names as occupier in another HDB flat.
But HDB replied that 1 name can only appear as owner or occupier in 1 HDB flat only.

Please help to answer my doubts. Thanks!

HDB is meant for the public as a form of public housing. Your mum as occupier cannot own any flat .. There can only be a flat , and a family nucleus has to be form when buying a flat. Read More
