1) I think you have some misunderstanding about the HDB policy.
2) You can buy a resale flat even before dispose of your overseas property. This property is referring to a residential property. You may keep it if this is industrial or commercial property.
3) You will be given 6 months to dispose it of upon key collection of your HDB flat.
4) However, you will not be eligible for HDB loan (HLE) and family & EHG grant. You may be eligible for a proximity grant though because only this grant is not under the same requirement as other grants.
5) In order to be eligible for the family & EHG grant and HDB loan (HLE). You are not allowed to hold any residential property (local & overseas) for the past 30 months.
6) Hope the above clarify all your doubts on the overseas property and where you got this 30 months period.
