Hi, I thinking of downgrading from my exec apartment hdb to a 4 room, I had stayed for 10 years. And if I really brought the resale flat must I also stay for 5 years before I can rent the whole flat out?

Hi Julie

Yes. You are required to fulfill a minimum occupation period (MOP) of 5 years in the resale flat before you are allowed to sublet the whole flat.

However, you are allowed to sublet rooms immediately without fulfilling the MOP.

Yes if you buy a resale HDB now, you have to fulfill the 5 years MOP before can rent it out.
