Hi, I’ve got the single’s proximity grant ($10k) for living near my mum, but now she would like to move in with me instead and potent rent out her house. My place has not hit MOP. Can she move in with me and rent out her place?

These involves regulatory conditions, therefore I believe the best person to check with for an answer will be HDB themselves. From logical sense perspective, the proximity housing grant is disbursed to home buyers who are purchasing near parents, therefore if the parent is shifting in together, then it is still within the objective, nevertheless the above is just my own opinion. Encourage you to check with HDB direct. Read More

Hi,

1) I have the same opinion as Geryl.
2) Proximity grant is meant to encourage close family bonding, thus stay within 4km or stay together in the same unit.
3) Although you are not able to get more grants by living with your mum, this is within the HDB objective in encourage family bonding.
4) You may call up or better still, send an email to your HDB branch office to get a formal black and white answer from them.

Hope the above answer your main concerns, but if there are more query, please feel free to contact me at 90110636  , or email: ling.ck7@gmail.com if more information is needed.
I'll be glad to assist.
