Hi, I’m a Malaysia holding a work permit. I want my current landlord to register with HDB but he said he couldn’t because my previous rented address is still showing. However, after checking online I realized it’s already been de-registered. How can I register my new address ?

Hi,

There are 2 things needed to be done upon signing of Tenancy agreement for HDB rental.
(1) Submit stamp duty: to legalize the TA.
(2) Seek approval from HDB for subletting.

In your case, you just need the TA to register your new address from any neighbourhood police post:

You can use these documents as proof of your new residential address. Please make sure they are recent documents, dated no later than 3 months ago:

Phone/Internet bill
Service and conservancy bill from your Town Council
Utilities bill
Cable TV bill
Credit card/Bank statement
Insurance bill/statement/letter
Tenancy agreement for residence
HDB bill/statement/letter

Hope the above answer to your main concerns, but if there are more queries, please feel free to contact me at 90110636  , or email: ling.ck7@gmail.com if more information is needed.
