Hi,

They can purchase their resale HDB on their own names after selling the existing property. If there are still funds available, why not purchase another property on your own name so that you can collect rental income and help with their retirement?

If it is, then yes, you are eligible to do so, nevertheless, careful planning needs to be done especially if you are looking to utilise any applicable grants and HDB loan, because it will be considered as you utilising your first timer chance. Hi,

1) Yes, you may add yourself as one of the owners if the intention is to assist in servicing the monthly mortgage.
2) There are no additional grants by adding your name to the application.
3) The grants for resale HDB flats are:
(a) CPF Housing grant: $50k for couple provided your parents are 1st-time HDB buyers.
(b) EHG: For family income lower than $9k
(c) PHG: Not eligible unless you are an applicant after you reached 35 yrs old.
4) Do note that it is invaluable as a 1st-time HDB buyer who will enjoy higher priority in BTO application and grants available for resale HDB flat.
5) You will lose that privilege once you add your name to this purchase unless this is the best arrangement.
