By the way, if you are planning to just have an exclusive agent to sell, then there be an exclusive form to sign with the agent. But if you are planning to engage more than 1 agent to for help, then you need not sign anything for now. Hi Pearl,

When you appoint an exclusive agent to sell your property, there will be a standardized CEA document for both sellers & agent to sign to confirm the engagement. It will lay out the indicative sale price, agreed commission rates and the engagement period validity, as well both seller & agent details.

May I know at which phase of the sale are you at at this moment?

1. Are you referring to HDB flat? If yes, Have you fulfill 5 years minimum occupation period (MOP)?
If you are referring to private property then can sell anytime

If you intend to appoint an exclusive agent, it will be the best to sign the estate agency agreement with the agent, where the agreement is prescribed by the Council Of Estate Agencies which regulates this industry with terms and conditions set out clearly. If you do not intend to sign anything but rather give an explicit permission for agent to market, it can be done too, nevertheless, the lack of commitment on the owner's end may also affect the agent's commitment towards the assignment.
