Hi,

I just fulfilled MOP for 4A HDB and be relocating overseas.

I will be applying with HDB to rent out my whole flat, but my brother will be staying in the master room.

What is the usual practice in HDB rental market in this scenario? I heard that you can have main tenant (my brother) and co-tenant thing.

If my brother is the main tenant, is it legal if he actually put on the ads himself (if we stated clearly that he could sublet the room in the contract)?

Good afternoon,

If you are SC and have fulfilled MOP, you can apply for rental of whole unit since you have be assigned overseas for work. Since your brother will be staying in the unit, you can apply for room rental instead.
