Hi there, In order to be sure, my suggestion is to apply for HLE first to ascertain the amt of loan you can get for your next housing, you will not be able to use the contra feature as HDB only allow contra if your current hdb was financed using HDB loan or has been fully paid off hence a financial plan and timeline has to be work up before you proceed with your plan. If you're unemployed, you'd need to do a statutory declaration at HDB, and the loan will be subject to approval. You won't be entitled to the contra facility as you're on a bank loan currently.

However, with careful planning, you wouldn't have to take any bridging loan as well.

And please go ahead and apply HLE first to gauge how much can you loan because as you are unemployed, only your spouse's income will be taken into consideration as of now.

1. Yes. If you are not working, your eligible loan amount will be affected. You may apply for a HLE with your husband and see what is the approved loan amount by HDB. You can apply via the link below:

Being unemployed, it will definitely affect the HLE figures as the loan amount will be based on the combined household income and both your credit status.
Since your current unit is on bank loan and should you be eligible for HDB loan, you cannot utilize enhance contra facility. You will have to plan the sales and purchase concurrently such that the funds will be ready for the purchase.
