Asked by
Hi,
I intend to buy a resale flat with my spouse, and we wanted to list one of us as essential occupier.

Will we still be eligible for the maximum amount of family grant of $50k for a 3 or 4-room flat?

Thanks.

Hi,

1) The grant has nothing to do with your method of holding the property. It can be joint tenancy, Tenancy-In-Common, or sole ownership.
2) The grant amount is determined by the resident status, salary, type of scheme, and the most important are whether this is your first HDB purchase. The list is not exhaustive, it is best to check on the HDB weblink.
3) As long as you are eligible under the guideline provided by the HDB, you should be able to get the grant needed:
4) You may refer to below the eligible criteria:
https://www.hdb.gov.sg/cs/infoweb/residential/buying-a-flat/resale/financing/cpf-housing-grants/firsttimer-applicants

Hope the above answer your main concerns, but if there are more query, please feel free to contact me at 90110636  , or email: ling.ck7@gmail.com if more information is needed.
I'll be glad to assist.
