Hi. I have just sold my private condo. Am I eligible to buy a resale hdb with my sister as we both areSingaporeans or do I have to wait 15 mths.? Can my sister nominate me till I complete 15 mths and then can I add my name as joint property holder together with her. Pls advice. Thanks

Good morning,

Are both of you 55 years old? If not have to wait out 15 months period.

As you are a ex private property owner, you need to adhere to this regulation be it as an owner or occupier.

Is she eligible to purchase under single singapore citizen scheme alone?

Good morning

If your sister is 35 years and above Single Singaporean Citizen, she can purchase resale HDB on her own sole name first, assuming her finances are ready. After the 15 month period is over, she can then add your name in as a co-owner.

If you are below 55 years old, you will need to wait out a period of 15 months before you are eligible to purchase a resale HDB. If you are 55 years old or above, you will be eligible to purchase a resale HDB which is 4 room flat or smaller. If your sister is 35 years old or above, she is eligible to purchase a resale HDB on her own (assuming she is able to undertake all financial commitments and eligible for sufficient loan to purchase if required), and thereafter add your name as a co-owner after 15 months with the approval by HDB.
