Hi, I have a flat in Toa Payoh. I can sell it when it hits 5 years in June this year. I did not hit the MOP as I am now working overseas. Have only stayed in my flat for 2 years and left it empty as we go back to Singapore regularly. I would like to sell it now. Is it easy to get an appeal from HDB to sell it since I didn't occupy the 5year period? What is the procedure for an appeal like? Also, racially, I am under OTHERS and I'm concerned that it will be hard to sell. How long will it take to sell for a flat in Toa Payoh to people under OTHERS? It is in a very good location, and very high floor. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hello Joe,

selling your hdb unit will not be an issue if you left it vacant and did not rent out once you hit the 5 years. As for selling under OTHERS category, it will depend on whether your blk is affected or not. If unaffected and open to all races, there will be no problems.
