Hi,

I am turning 35 yr and I am looking for a HDB under single scheme. If I decided to get married at a later stage and my partner hold a Private property, would he be taxed higher, given that the HDB is under my name.

What type of tax are you referring to? If you are referring to stamp duties, it will be applicable based on the point of purchase. If you are referring to property tax, it will be based on whether you are staying in this HDB or renting it out. If you are renting it out, then property tax will be higher.

Good morning,

HDB might require your partner's name to be included if you guys get married during the 5 years minimum occupation period.

But as long as he is not added as one of the HDB owners, he wont be subject to ABSD as Singaporean for his first property purchase.

Hi,

1) If your partner is going to be an owner of this HDB flat, then he won't be eligible to be one of them when holding on to his private residential property.
2) Under the current HDB policy, someone who owns a private property and intends to be an owner of a resale HDB flat. He will have to observe a 15-month wait-out period after disposing of his private residential property.
3) Once he completed the wait-out period, this HDB flat will be the only residential property he is going to have.
4) Therefore there is no ABSD imposed under such a scenario.
