Hi i am SPR,my bf is SC.His 3 room flat (BTO) will be ready next year.i was thinking of getting a 1 BR condo. Let's say when we get married and in 5 years,can he sell his 3 room and buy a new BTO 5 room hdb flat & i sell the condo at the same time? pls advice.thnx.

Hi,

Yes based on the limited info shared, sounds feasible. However, getting a BTO 5-rm next time means he has to incur a resale levy, and also have to go through the balloting process again. He can only apply for BTO again when his 5 year MOP is up, and that means another 3-4 years waiting time. He can't apply BTO with you though since you will have private property under your name, only with his parents again. However, you all can apply resale hdb as married couple once his BTO MOP is up no problem.

However, in order for you and him to jointly apply for another HDB new 5RM BTO flat, you will have to dispose off your private condo 30 months before your joint-application to apply for the BTO.
