Hi Kaian,

Unfortunately you can't purchase resale flat with your mum's name only, both your dad's name and your mum's name need to be included to form the eligible family nucleus to purchase resale HDB. You may wish to consider private property which you can purchase on your sole name and/or with your mum.

Good morning Kaian,

Sorry to inform you that it's not possible.

As your married parents are consisted a single entity/ family nucleus, your dad needs to be included in the purchase application as well. If he is not 55 years old and above, he has to observe 15 months waiting period before he is eligible to buy a HDB. If he's 55 years old and above, he can commit to a 4RM flat with your mom and needs to sell off landed within 6 months from completion.

Will you guys consider private housing as alternative?

I regret to inform you that you're not eligible to purchase a resale flat together with your Mother.

Your parents form the valid family nucleus, and if both of them are above age 55, they can purchase a HDB resale flat up to max 4Rm in size. Should they proceed with the purchase, your Father will have to dispose off his interest in his landed property latest within 6 months upon the HDB flat purchase.

Hi Kaian,

It is not possible unfortunately because you mum and dad is considered as a single entity since they are married as therefore you will need to include both their names as owner or occupier in order for you to make yourself eligible to purchase a HDB flat. However in this case since your dad owns a landed property, he is not able to be listed inside a HDB flat.

In order for him to be eligible, he will need to sell off his landed house and wait out a 15 months period. This may not be the best option just to purchase a HDB flat. Hi Kaian,

1) I regret to inform you that your mother is not eligible to buy an HDB flat with you.
2) As long as your mum is under marriage status, she will have to include her spouse (your dad) in the application when buying an HDB flat.
3) Your options for buying an HDB flat are either to get married to an SC now to buy or convert to an SC and buy when you reached 35 yrs old.
4) If your future spouse is an SPR, both of you must maintain the SPR status for at least 3 yrs before eligible to purchase an HDB flat.
5) So without the (4) or (5) situation, you can only consider buying a private residential property.
