Hi
I am Singapore PR. My company has deputed me on overseas task (Since 2010) and I will be returing to Singapore, this year end.
I had rented my whole room since 2011 to 2013 Jan with proper HDB approval.
My question is can I do a room rental as PRs not allowed for whole room? Is it violation of HDB rule, as they point on physical occupation?
My points are
I have my company letter for overseas assignment.
I have power of attorney assigned to an agent from 2011 to 2014.
I will retun this year end 2013.
And whenever I come to Singapore I stay in the house and all my furnitures are there.
Thanks for your answers.

Evening Rajan,

Under the current regulations, PR are not eligible to rent out their HDB unit. For overseas assignment, you can try to write in to request for concession. However, it's still subjected to approval. To rent out your common room would be possible if you are physically staying in the unit.

Salesperson are also not allowed to be the Attorney for their clients as it would post a conflict of interest. Hence you might want to work on this. Since you already have an agent, you can also consult his advise.

FYI.
