Hi I am recently divorced and sold my private property with completion of sale in Dec 2022. what are the chances that I can appeal successfully to apply for a new EC as I do not meet the 30 months duration?

By the way, HDB is very strict on such ruling and so I don’t think you stand any chance but you could always try. I guess your option left would be either a resale HDB flat or a resale EC/ condo.

Unfortunately this will be tough as the 30 month wait out period is quite standard for private property owners, and there are also other options such as resale EC or resale HDB available to turn to for purchase.

Might you be open to considering resale EC as well? May I have more info and requirements about your plans so as to make better recommendations? Thanks and look forward to value-add to your housing plans.

If you do not appeal, the chance is zero. If you appeal, at least 1% chance. Just go for it but do not have high hopes for it.

Hi,

1) My opinion is the same as others, your chance of success is extremely low.
2) The main reason is you are buying a new EC which does not address the urgency of immediate stay after the separation.
3) The HDB would take it that you intend to take an advantage of your situation and hope for a miracle.
4) You will have to come out with a better reason why the HDB should grant you a successful appeal.
5) My take is you should consider a resale HDB or EC to be more realistic.
