Good afternoon i,

do let me share a bit on the hdb rules.

1) you will not be able to apply for BTO (new HDB) unless you dispose off your EC first and observe 30 month waiting period before application (provided you are second timer).

2) you will not able to keep your ec and buy a resale hdb. You will have to dispose off your EC within 6 months from resale HDB completion date.

Hi there,

Rules differ from BTO and resale units. For new units (BTO), you would need to dispose off your EC and wait out 30 months, whereas, a resale unit would need you to dispose your EC within 6 months of the resale HDB completion date. Either ways, you will not be able to keep both concurrently. Have you thought of selling your EC and perhaps upgrading or do you wish to liquidate your profits ?

You can however purchase a resale HDB flat. Do take note that you will be required to dispose off your current property latest within 6 months of the resale HDB flat purchase.

Unfortunately you are not able to do so. In the first place, you might not be eligible to purchase a BTO if you have not disposed out your private property (including resale EC) 30 months prior to the application. FOr resale, you are required to disposed off your private property 6 months after purchasing a resale. Normally, those owners who owned both HDB and private property purchased a HDB first and when their HDB has met MOP, purchased a condo as a second property not the other way round. Dear Sir/Mdm,

Under the current rules and regulations, once you purchase a HDB flat, you will NEED TO SELL your EC within a 6 months period. As for new BTO, you will need to sell the EC first and observe a 30 mins window before you are eligible to apply for a BTO.

Buying a BTO may not be a viable option because of the long waiting time (30 months plus time to build the BTO) and also the resale levy payable. Since your EC is 12 years old, you should be sitting on a tidy amount of profit and it is a good decision to sell now.

As to whether a resale flat or another condo is a better option, I would need to find out your objectives and financial situation before I can give you a more informed recommendation. Please feel free to contact me so that I can gather more information and assist you further.

Hi,

1) This EC is considered as private residential.
2) In order to be eligible for BTO application, you must not own any private residential property (local & overseas) within 30 months at the point of application.
3) Therefore you are out at the moment till 2.5 yrs later after you dispose of this EC now.

4) You may purchase a resale HDB as long as you meet the eligibility schemes listed by the HDB. You may refer to the below link for detail on schemes available:

5) You just need to dispose of this EC within 6 months upon key collection of your resale HDB flat.
