Hi,

The regulation stated even an occupier for non-subsidized flat must not has any interest in any private property local & overseas, unless you have completed MOP for the flat.

In other word, if you have bought a flat 5 years ago (MOP completed), now wanted to list your spouse as occupier, then she will not need to dispose her private property.

If she does not want to dispose her private property, the only choice you have is to buy private property.

If you're looking to purchase a HDB flat as your first matrimonial home in Singapore, your wife will have to dispose off all interest in overseas residential properties as well. Unless you wife has very valid reasons, she can try to appeal to HDB on this matter. Approval is on a case-by-case basis.

Alternatively, you can consider a private property instead. There will be no such restrictions, and she will be free to keep all her overseas properties. You will also not be liable for ABSD as this will be your first matrimonial home.
