Hi, I am looking to buy a condo in Singapore. If I were to get an agent to help me find one, do I have to pay him/her a commission? Or this will be borne by the seller? If I need to pay a commission, what is the typical % we are looking here? Thanks

Good morning buyer,

For private property purchase, normally buyers wont have to pay a commission to their representative as he/ she will normally get their share of commission from the seller's agent (cobroke agent) or developer.

May I know how can I assist or advise you on your property purchase?

Hope to hear from you soon!

Hi,

Typically private property buyers need not pay commission. The buyer agent will cobroke with the seller's agent. May I understand your requirements further? Thanks and hope to assist further on your purchase.

Morning,

On general, private property buyers do not need to pay their agent the commission. However, there might be certain exception. Should such case arise, the commission payable will be 1% of purchase price.

Do contact me further should you require my assistance.

Dear buyer,

If you are looking to purchase a unit direct from developer, you do not require to pay commissions, however, do consider the option to pay the 1% commission for purchasing a resale unit to your appointed salesperson such that he or she will be motivated to fetch a better pricing for you which could be worth much more than the amount of commission you are paying him.

Hi there!

For purchasing of private condo/apt here in Singapore, generally the buyer serving agent will collect his/her fee from the listing/seller agent.

However, in some cases where the buyer agent has managed to negotiate a desirable price or managed to secure a rare unit, the buyer may have to pay a fee of 1% upwards, or whichever amount that is discussed between the buyer and the buyer agent.

Hope this helps!
