From my understanding unlike family scheme, singles are only allowed to purchase a 2 room BTO in non mature estate area once. If you are a divorcee and ever owned a subsidised flat with your wife previously, you are considered a second timer and therefore not eligible to purchased another BTO regardless of the size. You may want to check with HDB if this is the reason for rejection. If you have child under your custody, care and control, you may choose to purchase under family scheme. If not, you may want to consider purchasing a resale with no restrictions on size and location even for singles. I am specialised in HDB transactions and have served various single buyers like yourself. Hi,

1) The main reason that your application for cancellation is that you are not eligible for the 2-rm BTO as a 2nd timer.
2) The 2-rm BTO 99 yrs lease is only eligible for 1st timer.
