Hi, I am currently in the process of divorce. I still have the current HDB under my name and will sell it after MOP.

My partner and I are currently above 35 years of age. We are both Singaporean.

1) Would like to check, how long must I wait before I can apply for a flat with my current partner?

2) If my current partner get a resale flat under the Single SG Citizen Scheme, can she add my name to the flat as joint owner after I sell off my old flat?

3) Can I add my CPF contribution too for my partner resale flat after selling my old flat?

Good morning Sir,

Sorry to hear what you are going through.

You can purchase a HDB after your divorce is being finalised (with court order/ final judgement). If your divorce is finalised but MOP is not up yet, you can obtain special approval to sell within MOP.

You can be included in your partner's flat if both of you are married and can contribute CPF for the mortgage repayment in the event she proceeds to buy without you first.

Hi Sir/Mdm,

Let me try to assist you.

1. Once you have finalised the divorce, you will be able to apply with your current partner for a flat.

2. If your partner were to purchase under the single scheme, she will be the sole owner. If you wish to add in your name, you will need to write to HDB to seek the approval.

3. Only owners will be able to contribute the CPF towards the flat. Once you become one of the owners, you will be able to do so.
