Hi Kenneth, as long as your spouse doesn't properties under her name, she is free to purchase any properties without incurring ABSD. however if she has been added as a Essential Occupier for your HDB, the MOP will apply to her as well. Good afternoon,

If your spouse has been added into the hdb as an essential occupier status, the MOP of 5 years applies to her as well. If the MOP is cleared, she can purchase a private property under her own name without ABSD since she currently does not own any residential property.

your wife is eligible to purchase a private property without being hit by ABSD if she is singaporean and not essential occupier of your HDB. If she's, she has to adhere to the 5 years minimum occupation period before she can do so.

If your spouse is listed as an essential occupier in your HDB flat, both of you need to fulfil the MOP before any of you can purchase a private property.

As currently she don't have any property under her name, she can purchase a private property under her own name, without ABSD.
