Hi,

I am currently a single male aged 39 and have a single living parent who is my retired dad. He used to own a HDB flat but not anymore.

So question that I have is - am I eligible to apply a new BTO 4-room flat together with my dad?

If eiligible, can he be registered just as a tenant rather than a co-owner?

Pls advise.

Thank You,
John

Hi John, you can apply for a BTO with your dad. He can be an occupier (not tenant), but he is an essential occupier. in other words, he must be staying at that HDB flat.

If you choose not to wait for a BTO flat, you can choose to purchase a Resale flat directly with the Single's scheme. You do not need your Father as an essential occupier.

COVs are still sliding, some towns are more attractive than others, if you do not have a specific preference, I can guide you.

Afternoon John,

You can apply BTO with your dad as essential occupier. Aternatively, you can purchase resale unit under single scheme.
