Hi,

I am a single male Singaporean aged 37.
I am looking to get a resale HDB flat under the "Single Singapore Citizen Scheme".

My question is if I were to purchase a flat now and then get married later, do I need to inform HDB?

Also will the status of my wife affect my ownership of the flat? Let's say if it turns out she has private property of her own. Will she need to sell it off?

Evening Alex,

Ownership status of the unit have being registered prior to completion of transaction. If you were to get married after that, you can keep the unit even though your spouse have intention to purchase private property under her own name. However, if you were to sell your HDB unit, you will require your spouse consent to sell.

DO feel free to contact me for further discussion.
