Hi
I am a Singaporean currently living in Norway since Jan 2010. I am going to relocate back to Singapore with my family (husband & child) soon.

I am looking for a 4 room resale HDB flat. I am also aware that I may be able to apply for the HDB loan. I am currently employed but on NO PAY LEAVE being in Norway. Is it still possible for me to apply for the HDB loan eligibility based on my income pay slips before i left Singapore in Dec 2009? Or do I need to be back in Singapore and resume work for 3 months before i can be eligible for the HDB loan?

Afternoon Estee,

As per your current situation, being on "No Pay" leave means that you are still engaged by the company. You can try to apply for a HDB loan, with your letter of employment, plus the approval letter for "No Pay" leave, your past 15 months CPF contribution and an appeal letter.

Do feel free to contact me if you require any further assistance.

Dear Estee,

To clear your doubts, one of the better option is to apply the HDB Loan Eligibity (HLE). This will give you a better picture of your position before your return home.
