Hi there Paulson,

you do not need approval from HDB to purchase a private condo. However after purchasing the condo, you may continue to stay in your HDB flat or choose to rent out your HDB flat as you have fulfilled the minimum occupation period.

You will need approval to rent out your whole HDB flat. There is a small admin fee, and you are only allowed to rent to approved tenants.
