Hi, I am a Singapore PR. I have a HDB with 1 year MOP remaining. My Singapore company is transferring me to USA on open ended assignment. My PR renewal is after 2 years, which I may have to do from overseas. I called ICA and they said that it may be difficult for PR renewal if I am overseas (however I am not changing employer, current employer sending). If PR renewal rejected, then can I sell HDB within MOP. Any Guru have similar case where PR renewal is rejected within HDB MOP. What are the chances of my application being rejected when I have HDB which is still within MOP. Thanks a lot.

Morning,

With your company's letter of oversea assignment, HDB will approve you to rent your unit within MOP period. Talk to your boss on the possibility of them renewing your PR status, via the company HR, on your behalf. If the company is fine with the arrangement, write into HDB and ICA and request on their advice, based on such arrangement.

Here's where the tricky part takes place, if both are agreeable, things will be simple. Else you will need to write in to HDB and consult for their advice.

All the best.
