Hi, I am 33 years old and I plan to buy a HDB with my parents as co-applicants. But they have already used up their 2 chances. Currently we are all staying in a rented apartment as we are unable to stay with my brother who is married and owns a HDB due to space restriction. If I take bank loan, can I still purchase a HDB unit?

Hi,

Yes you can still purchase a Resale flat with your parents as co-applicants, using bank loan. Which unit are you considering and what are your main requirements? Thanks and hope to have the opportunity to understand your needs and value-add further.

Warm regards,

Dear sir/madam,

Absolutely no issue in co-purchasing a resale HDB with your parents using bank loan, however, it will be good to think through in details if you have plans to set up your own family and may purchase a unit with your other half as we have heard of countless cases where the parents co-purchase a HDB with their children and faced issues with having their children name out of the property when they are planning to settle down with other half.

Hi There should be no problem with buying a unit with your parents. However, what will be the likelihood of you getting married in the near future? You might want to buy flat with your partner. Think through the possibility and priorities before you make that move. Call me to discuss. Silvia Chua, ERA, 97508318  , silviac@singnet.com.sg Read More
