Hi,

It would not be advisable. Government giving out HDB Grant is your benefit and entitlement as a Singaporean.

Why would you choose not to use this entitlement when purchasing a HDB flat? And choose to not take this Grant and purchase HDB like any other PRs?

There is no guarantee that you will have your choice BTO in the future, and there are always chances that you will go for an upgrade to EC or private properties instead of BTO in the future too.

Government policies change time to time. You never know what is going to happen in 5 years time after you have served your MOP.

My advise is to take up the Grants. It is your entitlement. Government give, just take!

Hi,

There are still many uncertainties in the future, and you never know government policies may change anytime. BTO exercises might not be in a location you want and its not a guarantee that BTO exercises will conduct every 4 times a year in the future. Since the grant is available, why not just take it? You need not "return the grant" to the government after you sell, it goes back to your CPF OA.
