Hi Gurus,
Please give me your inputs in this situation.
Currently we (me and my husband) are staying in a hdb flat together with my mother in Jurong. This flat in Jurong is co-owned by me and my mum. Now that I am looking to purchase a hdb with my husband, can any1 advise the necessary actions to adopt?
kindly note that my cpf were emptied when we(me and my mum) bought the flat 5 years ago. The current bank loan for the flat is also under both of our names.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

If you intend to move the whole family to a new unit, you probably have to sell your current unit to fund the next purchase.

If you are looking to move out only with your husband, you need to transfer your name out of the current place. HDB will only grant approval provided your mum can finance the place herself, and the CPF you have utilized for this property will also have to be returned to you.

Hi, for your case, you and your mum will have to sell away the current HDB unit as you cannot own 2 HDB units at any one time. Once the current unit is sold, you and your husband could proceed to buy another HDB unit and place your mum's name as an occupier.

Afternoon,

If you are looking at buying HDB with your spouse, you will be required to sell away your HDB unit of perform part sales of the unit to your mother. However, for that to take place, your mother need to have ready cash and CPF as I believe it would be tough for her to obtain mortgage loan.
