Hi Jen, It is part of HDB's regulation that a private property owner has to sit out a 30month period after selling the private property in order to be eligible to apply for BTO unit, however this does not apply if you are seeking to purchase a resale HDB together. Hi Ms Jen, Thanks for your post in Propertyguru. In order to qualify for a BTO, you will need to wait for 30 months or 2.5 years after selling off your one bedroom condo. So if you really wish to go ahead with the HDB purchase then you will have to look at the resale market. Hi Jen, in order to be eligible for BTO application, you must sell off your condo first and observe a 30 months waiting period. If you are thinking of that, you might have to wait for 30 months plus potential up to 48 months BTO construction period to move into your BTO. I will recommend to purchase a resale HDB or a bigger private property. FYI if you choose to purchase a resale HDB, you won't be able to apply for housing grant. Hope it helps!
