Dear sir/madam,

No. HDB buyers will be required to dispose off any other residential properties within a 6 months period after completion of the purchase, and observe a 5 years MOP period before they are eligible to purchase another private residential property if they are Singapore Citizen household base on existing regulation.

Hi,

It is a one-way ticket, not a returned ticket. Do note the sequence of purchase if there is an intention to own multiple properties while holding on to HDB.

1) The only way to own HDB and private is to buy private upon meeting the MOP of HDB. Of course, this is subject to ABSD unless it is the occupier who is buying.
2) Can only buy EC which meets MOP, thereby considered as private under the capacity of Singapore Citizen or PR. You still hold on to HDB which meets MOP, buy this EC (meets MOP), again, subject to ABSD.
3) If you own private or privatized EC, wanted to buy resale HDB. Then you have to dispose of all these properties within 6 months upon key collection of HDB resale flat.
4) If you own private or privatized EC, wanted to buy BTO. You shall only be eligible to apply for BTO 30 months later after disposed of all these properties.

Hi,

You need to wait out 30 months after selling the EC before you can apply the new BTO. A resale levy of 55k also applies. Meaning definitely have to sell the new EC. Most owners usually would not go for this method unless they have alternative lodging.

Hi,

I'm sorry to inform that it is not possible for you to apply for BTO while owning a private property (EC that met the 5-year MOP is considered a private property).

You can only apply for a BTO flat after serving a 30-month wait out period after you had sold your EC, provided you qualify for all the other eligibility conditions. Do take note that a resale levy of $55k (in CASH) is applicable should you go ahead with the BTO purchase.

Dear Sir/Mdm,

If you own an EC, even after the 5 years MOP, you will not be able to apply for a BTO. In order to be eligible for a BTO, you will need to sell off your EC and observe a waiting period of 30 mins before you are eligible.

However, if you dont plan to sell off the EC, you can choose to decouple and free up your spouse's name to purchase another private property. Please feel free to contact me so that I can understand your intentions better and assist you better.

You won't be eligible to apply for BTO if you are owning an EC.

If EC is your first subsidised unit from HDB and wish to proceed with your plan, I am afraid you will have to dispose off your EC then observe a waiting period of 30 months before you are eligible to apply for BTO. Resale levy of $55k will be applicable.
