hi gurus,

i am staying with mum presently in a 3rm flat which is fully paid of i am just planning my options as the following.

1) can i buy a new BTO lets say 4rm or 5rm with me being the 1st owner and my mom as an occupier which means she will not pay for mortgage and also which i believe the entire sale proceed will be returned back to her cpf for the present house and she have to sell her present flat within 6 month upon receiving the keys of new flat.

2) can i buy a new 4rm or 5rm with me being the first owner and my mom as the 2nd owner which i believe the entire cpf paid for the present house will have to be transferred to the new flat since she will be the 2nd owner.

but i understand there is something after getting the house if my mom is the 2nd owner/ occupier she have to sell the house within 6 month upon receiving the keys for new flat is this correct

please advise??

Dear Sir/Mdm,

1. You will not be eligible to apply for BTO 4 or 5 room flat as a single. You will ONLY be eligible for 2 room flat in a non mature estate.

2. If both you and your mum are the owners, she will be able to use the CPF amount which was utilised in the current flat in the new resale flat. However, if she is above the age of 55, she will need to set aside Basic Minimum Sum before she can use the rest. She will also need to sell the current flat within 6 months.

Hi,

1) Sorry to inform that you are not eligible to apply for BTO 4 or 5 room under single scheme. For single scheme only eligible to apply for 2rm BTO.

2) Yes, if you are applying for BTO with your mum as owner, however she may need to sell the current within 6 months from the key collection of the new BTO.
