Hi Guru, our landlord is selling our apartment. So far, the relationship with the current landlord has been very bad. Multiple things where broken and never fixed so we have spend a lot of money on fixing this ourselves. they are now finalizing the sale and want us to share the hard copy contract for the sale. They say the landlord has lost their hardcopy. However, we want to continue to live in the house and we do not trust the current landlord. What should we do?

Dear sir/madam,

To enforce the legal terms of your tenancy, you should seek legal advice from the professional. I'll probably keep the original copy of the tenancy agreement to ensure that I have access to the copy and scan a copy of the tenancy agreement for the landlord to complete the sale, if the sale during the term of your tenancy is allowed. For HDB apartment, it cannot be sold with tenancy therefore you will be required to move from the apartment upon legal completion.

Again, I will highly encourage you to seek legal advise instead of advise from property agents as our core business is still the sale and rental of real estate.

For sales, ORIGINAL TA is needed.
There will be a clause to say : for sales with Tenancy or vacant possession.
