Hi Sue,

Unless the property is solely under your cousin's name then she can sell it off without your granny's consent. If your granny is listed as co-owner or occupier, she needs to obtain your granny's consent before she can proceed to sell.

Normally the sales proceeds will be issued in a form of cheque and distribute among the sellers and CPF utilised by your granny will be refunded back to her within 14days from completion date.

Evening Sue,

Since the unit was purchased jointly under both names, your cousin will not be able to sell the unit if your granny does not ink in the seller's checklist and OTP. HDB standard transaction will issue cheque in both owner's names. They can only cash out the cheque with an joint account. However, after that, it's up to your cousin and granny to split it among themselves. As for the CPF utilized, if any, will be transferred back into individual CPF account accordingly.

Hi Sue

Your cousin can only sell the flat with your granny consent and with her signature of course. And the sales proceeds that comes from the flat will be distributed into 2 cheques, 1 for your cousin and another is under your granny.
