Hi Guru

Me and my husband are SPR. We plan to buy resale HDB. However, we heard that the HDB resale HDB must be at least 4 rooms then we are entitled to obtain the loan from Bank. Is this true? Can we go for 3 rooms resale HDB instead?

Hi Jojo,

It is good that you are seeking assistance from the right channel as I am not sure where did you hear the news from that you will not be entitled for bank loans if you are buying a resale 3rm HDB.

As long as you are financially sound and have not bad credit ratings, I do not see any issue in obtaining a bank loan for a 3rm resale HDB in general. If you need help in securing a unit or checking with bankers, do give me a call.

Afternoon Jojo,

If all the hear-said statement are the truth, why would you need salesperson like us? You are entitled to obtain bank loan even if you are buying 3 room flat. Based on your credit, age and income status, the bank will decide how much they can disperse to you for the purchase. Whatever you are short of, including the 5% cash and COV will have to be prepared by both of you.
