Hi Guru,

Kindly need your advise. I am a married PR and having a house loan in oversea but the ownership of the house belongs to my parent.
1. Am I eligible to buy a resales HDB? and is there any restriction for me to get any bank loan?

Hi Mr Mistral,
Yes you are eligible to buy a resale HDB. For the bank loan, there are some required documents and declaration. My banker will be able to assist you. Please drop me an email for me to assist you in details.

As you do not have physical ownership on the property, you will be eligible to purchase resale HDB unit if your spouse is SC or SPR for more than 3 years. In regards to mortgage loan, my banker can provide you with the necessary figures upon getting the required documentation from you.

Good morning Mistral,

I will love to assist you with your house purchase in Singapore. As most of my fellow professionals have mentioned, since you don't have any ownership in the overseas property, you are eiglible to purchase a resale HDB if you can form a family nucleus with a SC or SPR.

As for your mortgage, I will ask my banker to advise accordingly.
