Hi guru,

I just got married and live in a 4ng hdb flat. Was wondering whether I can rent out one of my rooms for storage space? I'm currently not open to the idea of having a tenant as we still want our privacy but at same time still want to to earn some income. Do I need to wait for 5 years before I can do this?

Morning,

As long as the owner is staying in the particular unit, they are allowed to rent out their room. As for such 'commercial' usage, you will have to check with HDB if it's allowed.
